PAKLENI OTOCI (Pakleni Islands) are a series of limestone islets in front of the south-western coast of the island of Hvar. The westernmost of them is Vodnjak Veli, northwest of it is the islet of Vodnjak Mali, and east of it is the island of Sveti Klement, the largest island in the group. South of Sveti Klement are the islets of Dobri and Stanbedar, and east of them are the rocks of Plocice. East of the island of Sveti Klement are the islets Borovac, Planikovac, Marinkovac and Jerolim.
Off the south-eastern entrance into the Pakleni Channel is the islet of Pokonji Dol with a lighthouse. Passages between the islands are mostly shallow and unfavourable for larger vessels. Sea currents are strong, especially during the southerly winds. Docks for yachts in the port of Palmizana - Palmizana ACI Marina, Soline (Sveti Klement) and in the passage between the islets of Planikovac and Marinkovac (the cove of Zdrilica) are well protected.
The islands are frequented by excursionists, boaters and nature-lovers. Sand and pebble beaches and beautiful coves provide excellent opportunities for bathing, underwater fishing, water sports.
